Providing High School Performers with the education, preparation, and support needed to successfully navigate the college musical theatre/theatre audition process. From “where to start?” to “which offer to accept?”
The CAPS program is designed especially for Rising Seniors as their audition submissions start as early as August of Senior year. These packages are also available to students who are taking a gap year after high school graduation, or who are planning on auditioning their first semester of college for acceptance to a spring semester program.
CAPS program director, Emily Cabana, is a Musical Theatre graduate of Baldwin-Wallace University. Emily joined Actor’s Equity Association her senior year of college and prior to graduation was signed with an agent in NYC. She has performed professionally in NYC, and a multitude of theaters around the country. Emily has been working for many years as a private vocal coach and audition coach. She also has been extensively involved in coaching many students through their personal college audition journeys. This will be her third year directing the CAPS program, and proud to say every auditioning student of CAPS received offers to Musical Theatre programs.
CAPS Resident choreographer and Parental Support Liason- Kristin Ciuro. Kristin Ciuro comes has 30 years of dance and choreography, experience.Additionally, she is certified in Yoga and Progressing Ballet Technique. Kristin holds her master’s degree in Physical Therapy and has worked in pediatrics as well as orthopedic arenas always with an emphasis on wellness and holistic intervention. She has used this experience to guide dancers in achieving optimum fitness for dance, as well as preventing and treating specific dance related injuries. Kristin has recently navigated the college audition waters with her own daughter making her an excellent resource for students and parents who are about to embark on the same journey. With the priceless and steadfast guidance of Emily and the CAPS program Kristin’s daughter was accepted to more than 10 musical theaterprograms.
