Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hedren) meets Mitch Brenner (Rod Taylor) in a San Francisco pet store and decides to follow him home. She brings with her the gift of two love birds and they strike up a romance. Things take a truly ugly turn when one day hundreds of birds converge on a children's party. One day birds start attacking children at Mitch's sisters party. A huge assault starts on the town by attacking birds. Psycho centers on an encounter between a secretary, Marion Crane (Janey Leigh), who ends up at a secluded motel after stealing money from her employer, and the motel's disturbed owner-manager, Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins), and its aftermath.
